The oxyCLONE Cloning System

oxyCLONE is a simple, compact cloning system. It works with a variety of cuttings, allowing you to have a perpetual garden year-round. Now powered by Active Aqua's premium, BPA-free water, and air pumps! The submersible pump delivers constant turbulence to your reservoir while the attached Venturi valve naturally draws in air bubbles. For maximum aeration, the single-outlet, dual-outlet, or quad-outlet Active Aqua air pump provides a constant flow of dissolved oxygen through a circular 4" air diffuser.

No other cloner delivers dissolved oxygen like the oxyCLONE.

Insert Cutting

Place your cuttings into the non-toxic, "no-pinch" EVA foam oxyCERT inserts

Let it Root

Run your oxyCLONE system 24/7 for 7 to 14 days and your cuttings will be ready to transplant

Features & Benefits

No Clogging

The oxyCLONE system does not rely on clog-prone spray jets, which means you'll never have to do the maintenance of replacing or cleaning them. The powerful air delivery of the Active Aqua Air Pump through an Active Aqua Air Stone provides more than enough microdroplet coverage and oxygenation for fast rooting.

Non-Clogging

Less Heat Retention

Evaporative cooling and a low-power water pump assure minimal heat buildup/retention. In high-temperature situations, connect the submersible pump to a timer and set the timer to shut off 15 minutes out of every hour. This won’t damage the roots and will assist in reducing water temperature.

Minimal Heat Buildup

Low Profile

Each of the three oxyCLONE systems is only 6" tall, making them very low profile and leaving more vertical room, which allows you to place the system on shelves and other tight spaces. This is very helpful in tight spaces where several systems are in place at once.

Low Profile

BPA Free

The oxyCLONE system features a BPA-free virgin ABS plastic reservoir and lid, plus non-toxic oxyCERTs EVA foam plant inserts which are ideal when propagating herbs and other consumable plants

BPA Free

Built With Quality Active Aqua Components

oxyCLONE systems are built around premium, industry-leading Active Aqua submersible pumps, air pumps, and air stones.

Cloning Supplies

It is not uncommon for clones to develop roots slowly, and this can frustrate growers. After all, the longer it takes to sprout roots, the longer until you can harvest. How to promote root growth is a common question for growers of all experience levels. Rooting gel, also known as cloning gel, is a hormonal product for cuttings that increases the success rate of cloning while speeding up the process.

If you are looking for a particular type of cloning gel, you can search our wide selection of Cloning Gels & Rooting Solutions here!

Lighting Fixtures

Fluorescent grow lights are best known for their propagation abilities. These lights do wonders for clones, seedlings, and young plants, since they have low heat output and a less intense light. HID and LED grow lights need to be placed further away from plants, and a lot of light is wasted. Fluorescent tubes are smaller, and save the grower money on electricity costs. These lights can also emit a full spectrum for plants.

If your indoor garden is small, you will have to grow smaller plants and T5 and CFL grow lights are great for this. If you are growing in a small enclosed space, fluorescent grow lights will be your best option. We have a wide range of lighting fixtures to choose from which can be seen here - Fluorescent Lighting Fixtures

oxyCLONE Cloning System - 20, 40 & 80 Sites Questions & Answers

What length should I make my cuttings?
While clones can be small or large, try to make your cuttings approximately six inches in total length from established branches.

Is rooting compound required with the oxyCLONE?
No it isn't. Our technology submerses the stems into a bath of recirculating, oxygenated water. Tests were conducted using municipal tap water (no gels, no supplements), and cuttings rooted in 5 to 10 days. However, for cuttings that are difficult to root, cloning gels and rooting supplements may increase success rates.

How can I reduce temperature inside the oxyCLONE if I become concerned that it is too high?
In high temperature situations, connect the submersible pump to a timer (part # TM01015 or TM01015D); set the timer to shut off 15 minutes out of every hour. This won’t damage the roots and will assist in reducing water temperature.

Will I encounter temperature problems with my cloner?
Because our oxyCLONE systems do not have spray jets that clog or overpowered pumps to heat up your water, your oxyCLONE will generate less heat than other cloning machines. Many growers consider 77°F as the ideal temperature for plant growth, but your oxyCLONE will perform well at temperatures ranging from 72-82°F. Reservoir temperatures will usually be 3-5° higher than room temp, so these systems work best with ambient temps in the low to mid 70s. Temperatures will increase if water levels get too low.

Can I temporarily grow my rooted plants in the oxyCLONE by adding some nutrients?
Yes. Salt-based nutrients at no more than 300 ppm are recommended. Lower is better. Cloning gels and solutions can enhance rooting, but are not mandatory with the oxyCLONE. Once your clones have roots longer than two inches, they are ready for transplant into soil or hydroponics systems. Do not attempt long-term plant growth in the oxyCLONE.

What lighting systems are recommended for oxyCLONE systems?

  • 20 site: JSFC2, JST52, JSFS2
  • 40 site: FLP22, FLP24, FLT22, FLT24, JSFSYS2
  • 80 site: FLP24, FLT24, JSFSYS2

What maintenance is needed for my oxyCLONE system?

  • If the cloner is not properly sanitized it can lead to a delay or failure to root.
  • Always rinse the mesh filter inside your 160 GPH submersible pump between cycles to prevent clogging.
  • If air stones become clogged or contaminated, they can be easily replaced at low cost. Look for authentic Active Aqua air stones at your favorite hydroponics supply store.

What are the recommended steps for taking cuttings?

  1. Wash hands or use a fresh pair of nitrile gloves.
  2. Take cuttings using razor sharp pruners that are clean and sterile. Try cut the stem at a diagonal angle to expose more surface area.
