How do I use seed starter plugs for germination?
Pre-moisten organic plugs (Root Riot, Rapid Rooter) with pH 5.8-6.2 water before inserting seeds -- they arrive pre-moistened but may dry slightly in transit. For rockwool cubes, soak in pH 5.5 water for 1-2 hours, then allow to drain to field capacity before seeding. Insert one seed per plug at approximately twice the seed's diameter depth. Place plugs in a seedling tray under a humidity dome on a heat mat (target substrate temperature 72-78 degrees F for most crops).
