FloraFlex Nutrients, Drip Irrigation & Growing Supplies
FloraFlex is a California-based growing brand that has built a strong following in the indoor cultivation community for two distinct product lines: their drip irrigation cap-and-manifold system for coco bag and container growing, and their FloraFlex Nutrients dry powder nutrient program. The two product lines are designed to work together but are widely used independently -- growers who adopt FloraFlex's drip system often stay with it for the feeding programs as well, while others use the irrigation components with other nutrient brands or vice versa.
FloraFlex Drip Irrigation System
FloraFlex's irrigation system uses a manifold-and-cap distribution design -- a top-mounted cap sits on the grow bag or container and connects to the nutrient supply line, distributing solution evenly across the growing surface through multiple output points rather than a single center drip stake. This multi-point top delivery is specifically designed for large coco grow bags and square containers where a single center drip stake may not distribute solution uniformly to the container edges. FloraFlex caps are available in configurations for different bag sizes and container types, and connect to FloraFlex's own fittings and poly tubing supply system. Note that FloraFlex fittings and Netafim fittings use different sizing conventions and are not interchangeable -- select one system and source all components from it for compatibility.
FloraFlex Nutrients
FloraFlex Nutrients (V1 and V2 dry powders) is a two-stage dry concentrate program -- V1 for vegetative growth, V2 for flowering -- designed for precision EC-based feeding in coco coir and inert hydroponic systems. The dry powder format reduces shipping cost and storage footprint compared to liquid concentrates, and the formulation is designed to dissolve cleanly without residue in recirculating and drain-to-waste drip applications. Use our Nutrient Mixing Calculator to calculate mixing ratios for any target EC and reservoir volume. Expert support available.
FloraFlex FAQ
What makes the FloraFlex drip system different from standard drip stakes?
Standard drip stakes (like Netafim Woodpeckers) are point-delivery devices -- one stake per plant site, delivering solution at a single point. FloraFlex's cap-and-manifold system distributes solution across multiple output points from a single top-mounted cap, covering a larger area of the container's growing surface. This multi-point distribution is specifically advantageous for large grow bags (5+ gallon coco bags) where a single center drip point may not adequately wet the full container volume -- a common issue in coco bag programs where dry pockets near the container edges reduce root zone uniformity and total root volume utilization.
Are FloraFlex fittings compatible with Netafim tubing?
No -- FloraFlex and Netafim use different sizing conventions and fitting systems that are not directly interchangeable. FloraFlex fittings are designed for FloraFlex's own push-fit tubing and manifold system; Netafim fittings (TechLock and standard insert) are sized for Netafim's 17mm and 13mm PE tubing standards. Mixing the two systems typically results in dimensional mismatches and leaks. Choose one system and source all fittings, tubing, and connectors from within that system for reliable compatibility.
How do FloraFlex V1 and V2 nutrients differ?
FloraFlex V1 is the vegetative stage dry nutrient concentrate -- higher nitrogen relative to phosphorus and potassium, supporting rapid leaf and stem growth. FloraFlex V2 is the flowering stage formula -- shifted toward higher phosphorus and potassium ratios appropriate for flower development and density. Both are single-part dry concentrates that dissolve in water to create the full nutrient solution for their respective growth stages. The transition from V1 to V2 occurs at flower initiation -- when switching to 12/12 light schedule (or when autoflowering varieties begin flowering), transition the nutrient program to V2 simultaneously.
What EC should I target with FloraFlex nutrients?
FloraFlex publishes specific EC targets on their feeding schedule, generally falling in the ranges standard for coco and rockwool programs: seedlings 0.5-1.0 mS/cm, vegetative 1.5-2.0 mS/cm, early flower 2.0-2.5 mS/cm, peak flower 2.5-3.0+ mS/cm, pre-harvest 0.0-0.5 mS/cm. As with any dry concentrate program, always measure EC after full dissolution and before adjusting pH -- dry powders shift EC and pH significantly when dissolving, and final measurements only matter after the solution is fully prepared. Use our Nutrient Mixing Calculator for accurate volume-to-EC conversion.
Can FloraFlex nutrients be used in a Dosatron system?
Yes -- FloraFlex V1 and V2 dry concentrates dissolve cleanly and create stable stock solutions well-suited to Dosatron proportional injection. Dissolve the dry powder in a pre-dissolve tank at the appropriate stock concentration before connecting to the Dosatron suction line -- never add undissolved powder directly to a Dosatron stock tank as residue can clog the suction tube and injector mechanism. A common configuration pairs FloraFlex nutrients in one Dosatron with pH Down stock solution in a second Dosatron for both nutrient delivery and pH management in a single-pass water line injection system.
