SaniDate 12.0 is an EPA registered Organic microbicide for eliminating waterborne plant pathogens, bacteria and algae

SaniDate 12.0 Microbiocide is a one-step process for all types of irrigation systems. The highly concentrated formula guarantees economical dilution rates.

SaniDate 12.0's activated peroxygen chemistry is a highly effective, powerful and economical solution for treating irrigation water and irrigation systems. SaniDate 12.0 Microbiocide is a high-strength, 12% Peracetic Acid-based microbiocide formulated as an alternative to chlorine treatments in irrigation water. Use SaniDate 12.0 Microbiocide to control water-borne pathogens and their dormant spores caused by algae, bacteria and biofilm. This will prevent the spread of disease among crops in the greenhouse.

BioSafe SaniDate 12.0 is effective against the following pathogens:

  • Algae
  • Biofilm
  • Slime-forming bacteria
  • Plant pathogenic organisms

What is SaniDate 12.0's mode of action?

SaniDate 12.0 works through an oxidation chemical reaction that kills bacteria and fungus. More specifically, SaniDate 12.0 reacts on contact with the enzymes and proteins that make up simple cell organisms such as plant pathogens.

What applications can I make with BioSafe SaniDate 12.0?

Chemigation

This product can be applied through sprinkler (center pivot, lateral move, end tow, side (wheel) roll, traveler, solid set or hand move) or drip-type irrigation systems.

Liquid Treatment

Surface spray (or inject) spray solution on the water surface from shore or a boat equipped with aquatic spray or injection equipment. Use in accordance with manufacturer's spray equipment instructions.

Inject Treatment

Inject solution into the water via compatible dosing equipment.

SaniDate 12.0 in a CEA Irrigation Program

SaniDate 12.0 is the irrigation-specific PAA product in the BioSafe line - formulated at 12% peracetic acid for economical dilution into irrigation water at the rates needed to control waterborne pathogens, biofilm, and algae. At typical chemigation rates, a single 5-gallon container treats a significant volume of irrigation water, making it practical for large recirculating systems and high-volume drip operations.

The line shock procedure: apply SaniDate 12.0 to sanitize irrigation lines and eliminate existing biofilm first, then inoculate with beneficial biology. Sanitizing without following with beneficial inoculation leaves clean lines that just re-colonize with whatever is in the environment. The sanitize-then-inoculate sequence is the protocol that holds.

What is SaniDate 12.0 used for?

SaniDate 12.0 is an EPA-registered, OMRI certified high-concentration PAA microbiocide specifically formulated for irrigation system sanitation, water treatment, and recirculating hydroponic system management. At 12% peracetic acid, it treats waterborne plant pathogens, bacteria, algae, and biofilm in irrigation lines, header tanks, reservoirs, drip systems, and flood floors.

How does SaniDate 12.0 compare to SaniDate 5.0?

SaniDate 12.0 (12% PAA) is formulated specifically for water and irrigation system treatment at high concentration. SaniDate 5.0 (5% PAA) is formulated for hard surface sanitation and room disinfection. Use SaniDate 12.0 in your water lines and reservoirs; use SaniDate 5.0 on surfaces, equipment, and room resets.

What is the line sanitation protocol using SaniDate 12.0?

For irrigation line resets: first run GreenClean Acid Cleaner through lines for 2 to 4 hours maximum (do not exceed 4 hours - the surfactant can attack PVC cement at fittings). Flush with 2x the system volume of clear water. Then introduce SaniDate 12.0 at label rates for a minimum 4-hour hold, overnight preferred. The sanitize-then-inoculate sequence: after SaniDate 12.0 treatment, allow the line to clear before introducing beneficial microbial inoculants for maximum colonization efficiency.

Does SaniDate 12.0 leave residues in irrigation water?

No. SaniDate 12.0 degrades to water and oxygen with no harmful residues. It is compatible with organic production programs and leaves no phytotoxic carryover at use dilution rates. No separate rinse step is required after treatment.
