Benching systems are rarely the first thing growers think about when improving facility performance — the conversation usually focuses on lighting, HVAC, irrigation, genetics, or environmental controls — yet the benching system influences nearly every aspect of cultivation, and a well-designed one does far more than just support plants.

The Stationary Bench Systems from CM Hort are excellent options for greenhouses, research, and retail displays. Stationary benches do not need to be anchored to the floor but you do have the option to do so if you desire.

Expanded Metal Benches

CM Horticulture’s expanded metal benches are built with the same high-quality materials as our ebb and flow benches. The systems are similar in design, but use an expanded metal growing surface instead of ebb and flow trays.

Expanded metal benches are often incorporated into commercial cultivation facilities and retail growing areas. They use the same legs, framework, extruded aluminum side rails, and rounded corners as CM Horticulture’s ebb and flow benches, creating a consistent appearance when multiple bench styles are used within the same facility.

The aluminum side rails extend approximately three inches above the expanded metal surface to help prevent plants from being accidentally knocked off. Both the side rails and expanded metal tops are hot-dip galvanized after forming, creating a durable finish designed to maintain a clean appearance over time.

These benches are often selected for facilities that prioritize durability, airflow, and simplified cleaning in high-volume growing environments.
