AzaGuard - Insecticide / Nematicide

AzaGuard is a 3% Azadirachtin formulated Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) that offers broad-spectrum insecticidal control on over 300 insect species. AzaGuard prevents molting between larval, pupal, and nymphal stages reducing insect infestations in and around the facility.

AzaGuard is most commonly applied in a foliar insecticide program and can be rotated and/or tank-mixed with other synthetic and botanical insecticides. For soil applications, AzaGuard can be drenched into the soil profile, as well as chemigated directly through drip irrigation systems to control various sub-terranean root herbivores. AzaGuard is labeled to be applied through high and low-volume sprayers, fogging applications, aerial applicators, and chemigation through various irrigation systems.

What is the active ingredient in AzaGuard?

AzaGuard’s primary active ingredient is a highly concentrated 3% Azadirachtin formulation. Azadirachtin, a chemical compound belonging to the liminoid group, is formulated through an extraction process of the neem tree, mainly from the seeds that yield the purest form of the neem extract. AzaGuard’s raw neem oil extract is then put through a complex biosynthesis to create a concentrated, high-grade Azadirachtin formula that yields a higher percentage of critical limonoid components including nimbin, nimbidinin, and salannin.

What is AzaGuard's mode of action?

AzaGuard Insecticide/Nematicide is a versatile IPM tool that allows for field application on over 150+ different fruit and vegetable crops while also being labeled for greenhouse ornamental applications. AzaGuard is most commonly applied in a foliar insecticide program and can be rotated and/or tank-mixed with other synthetic and botanical insecticides. For soil applications, AzaGuard can be drenched into the soil profile, as well as chemigated directly through drip irrigation systems to control various subterranean root herbivores. AzaGuard is labeled to be applied through high and low-volume sprayers, fogging applications, aerial applicators, and chemigation through various irrigation systems.

How Growers Use AzaGuard

AzaGuard's 3% azadirachtin concentration is significantly higher than most neem-based IGRs, which typically run at 0.9-1.2%. That higher active concentration matters in high-pressure pest situations - you're getting more than twice the azadirachtin per application compared to standard neem products. The IGR mechanism disrupts molting between life stages, which means it needs to be applied before infestation pressure escalates - preventive and early-intervention timing is where AzaGuard performs best.

For soil applications and root zone pest pressure, AzaGuard can be drenched or chemigated through drip systems - one of the few azadirachtin products labeled for irrigation chemigation. Tank mix compatibility with synthetic and botanical insecticides allows it to fit into most existing IPM programs without creating a standalone application event.
