These are chosen from a range of naturally occurring peptides with known insecticidal uses. The formulas are not generally cross-resistant from synthetic insecticides.
They optimize their product formula after a hard process that tests for efficacy and safety. We must also confirm the lack of harm against mammals and vertebrates in general. They insert the genes that encode for the peptide into a yeast strain.
This is part of a fermentation production system. This yields the active ingredient for the formula into a bioinsecticide. The formula can be used in fruits, vegetables, ornamentals, and other high-value crops.

With its novel mode of action, Spear-Lep is a valuable new tool for IPM programs.

Leprotec
Leprotec is a versatile, liquid formula of the lepidopteran active Bt kurstaki strain EVB-113-19. It is an organic insecticide. It may be used in a wide range of crops including outdoor food, non-food and greenhouses.
Use it for control of loopers, worms and other caterpillars. Leprotec is OMRI listed, giving growers the flexibility to use on organic grows.
Leprotec is the ideal partner for use with Vestaron’s Spear-LEP. Leprotec’s disruption of the insect's gut gives way for the Spear peptide to reach target receptors in the nervous system. This leads to insect death and extended residual activity.
