How to Use Black Gold Natural & Organic Earthworm Castings Blend 0.8-0.0-0.0

  • Soil Amendment: Work a thin layer of Black Gold Earthworm Castings Blend into your garden bed surface and level with a hard rake. For individual plantings, amend planting holes as needed.
  • Existing Garden Beds: In spring, early summer and fall, apply 1/2 to 1 cup of Black Gold Earthworm Castings Blend to the area above the root zone and work into the existing soil gently. Use caution while applying to shallow root.
  • Container Plants: Incorporate Black Gold Earthworm Castings Blend into the existing soil in your favorite potted plants, window boxes or hanging baskets. Blend together carefully and use caution when near shallow roots.
  • Roses, Trees & Shrubs (newly established or transplanted): Dig a hole the same depth as the plant's root ball and twice as wide. Mix 1 part Black Gold Earthworm Castings Blend with 3 parts of the soil that was removed from the planting hole. Place the root ball into the hole and fill the hole with your mixture. Gently pat the mix firm around the plants and make sure your root ball is not buried too deeply. Water thoroughly. Mulch newly installed plants (without covering their stems) to increase water retention.
  • Compost Piles: Spread a thinlayer of Black GoldEarthworm CastingsBlend between each newlayer of material to becomposted, to help speedup decomposition.
