Sakato Bags Diagrams and Specs

Sakato Polypropylene Mushroom Grow Bags

Precision-engineered cultivation from Japan's industry leader. Sakato is legendary for the craftsmanship and attention to detail that made them Japan's largest producer of cultivation bags. These premium polypropylene (PP) bags turn every substrate block into a separate, optimized biome, providing the stability and sterility control required for professional-grade harvests.

Industrial Strength & Sterility

Constructed with 2.5 mil (65 microns) thick polypropylene, these bags are built to withstand the rigorous temperatures of autoclave sterilization (rated up to 125°C / 257°F). The high-clarity material allows for effortless observation, enabling you to monitor mycelial health and spot potential contamination at a glance.

Premium Filter Technology

Sakato bags utilize advanced filter patches to facilitate essential gas exchange while maintaining a strict barrier against competitors:

  • R-Filters (Gore-Tex®): A polypropylene-based membrane that provides excellent airflow while maintaining a strong barrier against contaminants.
  • 0.2-Micron Filters: Ideal for grain spawn production, providing maximum protection against molds and fungi.
  • 5-Micron Filters: Best suited for substrate fruiting blocks, offering increased airflow for faster colonization.

Select the Right Bag for Your Task

Model Filter / Feature Primary Use
#3 Medium 0.2-Micron + Injection Port All-purpose; ideal for sterile grain or liquid inoculation.
#4 Small 0.2-Micron + Injection Port Grain spawn or small master fruiting blocks.

Technical Specifications

  • Material: 2.5 mil (65 microns) Polypropylene (PP)
  • Temperature Rating: 125°C / 257°F (Fully Autoclavable)
  • Closure: Sealable via impulse sealer
  • Filter Diameter: 25 mm

Usage & Sterilization Tips:

  • Keep it Clean: Avoid spilling substrate on the upper regions of the bag; residue can interfere with a proper heat seal.
  • Air Removal: Fold gussets and roll the neck over the contents to remove excess air before placing in the autoclave.
  • Steam Circulation: Do not overpack your sterilizer. Ensure there is enough space between bags for steam to circulate for 100% sterilization.
