Roots Organics Product Documents
Roots Organics 70/30 is a natural and organic blend of pure coconut coir and perlite, naturally buffered with dolomite. This blend can be used right out of the bag with your favorite nutrients, or combined with dry soil amendments and fertilizer ingredients to make your own custom soil blend.
Roots Organics 70/30 is the perfect growing media for organic gardening; It is free-draining yet retains sufficient moisture for fast-growing, heavy-feeding plants, allowing you to control plant growth with your choice of fertilizers and supplements.
How To Use
Place Roots Organics 70/30 media in a container with drainage holes. Place enough media in the pot to allow the top of the plant's root ball to be about two inches below the rim of the pot. Add more media, firming with hands until full within one inch of rim. Insert supports if necessary. Water transplants thoroughly, using a light fertilizer solution if desired. When plants are moved from one stage to another, such as from cuttings to pots or when transplanting a size up, reduce fertilizing until they show signs of growth again.

Roots Organics 70/30 Coco & Perlite, 1.5 cu. ft. - Pallet of 75 Bags Questions & Answers
Q: Which Roots Organics Growing Media Should I Use?
A: We manufacturer high quality blends because there are many different ways to garden. The answer depends on what you're looking for. Our soils vary primarily by water holding capacity (directly influenced by the amount of coco and perlite present) and the amount of organic material present. The water holding capacity is higher in our peat-based soils such as Green Fields and Formula 707. Original and Green Lite, with their higher coco and perlite percentages, will drain and dry more quickly. Of those soils, the Green Lite contains less organic material than the others. Green Fields contains the most organic material, followed by the Original, and then the Formula 707. For choosing a soilless media, you could use pure coco from Coco Bricks, or our Cocopalms, or you could use a coco and perlite centered mix with our traditional Soilless. Roots Organics Micro-Greens is another option containing a balance of peat and perlite but no compost.
