HydraMax Professional RDWC Hydroponic System, 3-Row, 12-Site System Questions & Answers
Q: Will the water fully drain out of the lines? Is there still water in the lines or are they completely empty?
A: Each row of the system ends with 1" ball valves to allow you to hook up to a hose and drain entirely.
Q: Is the pump size different for every system?
A: Our main system categories: HydraMax Home, Professional, and Commercial – all have a different pump, based on the category. We have thoroughly tested all pumps to make sure they meet our circulation specs and needs for optimized performance.
Q: Do the buckets measure 30 inches from bucket to bucket or from the center of the buckets?
A: We measure this from center to center, so they have 30" plant centers.
Q: Do the buckets measure 30 inches from bucket to bucket or from the center of the buckets?
A: We measure this from center to center, so they have 30" plant centers.
Q: Are the systems Chiller ready?
A: Our professional and commercial systems are chiller ready. The 1-2 Bucket system is not.
Q: Does the systems come with a chiller?
A: Our professional systems are chiller ready, but the actual chiller unit is not included our system.
Q: How Many Gallons Of Water Do The Buckets Hold?
A: HydraMax utilizes 8 gallon buckets and has a scale on the side of the bucket to help you track how much water your system is holding.
Q: My current system holds close to 10,000 liters, how much water does this system hold?
A: There is no limit to our system's capabilities, we can custom each room and each operation to your specific needs. HydraMax utilizes 8 gallon buckets and has a scale on the side of the bucket to help you track how much water your system is holding.
Q: Can I use longer hoses to locate the pump in a remote location?
A: Yes, within reason. Try not to go over 10′ and keep the hoses as level as possible.
Q: Should I move the pump outside the room if I am using C02? If yes, do you provide the connection or hosing?
A: The HydraMax pump is a water pump so it can stay in the room. The air is drawn in from the top of the circulators. If you are using CO2, you will want to chain the airlines together and draw from a remote location.
Q: Is it detrimental to pull air using the venturi than having an outside pump, if using CO2 enrichment?
A: It is recommended you draw air from outside the room if you are using CO2 enrichment.
Q: Can TetraBase work with any DWC system besides HydraMax?
A: Yes!
Q: How "green" is TetraBase?
A: TetraBase is made from 100% recycled Polypropylene. Polypropylene is considered to be the safest of all plastics. It is approved for food and beverage storage. Inherently BPA Free, too!
Q: Since the plastic is recycled and not virgin pvc, is leaching a concern?
A: No leaching is not a concern, even when exposed to warm or hot water.
Q: How does TetraBase compare to clay balls?
A:TetraBase was designed with 6 key features that clay balls do not have.
- TetraBase is made from Polypropylene just like the buckets and other components of the system so they may be used and reused indefinitely.
- TetraBase is non-porous. This can be a major factor in bacteria breeding grounds as well and makes sanitation easier.
- As your plants grow larger, TetraBase interlocks and grows in strength , creating the ultimate base for your stalks.
- TetraBase is pH Neutral. TetraBase will not effect your pH like other media, allowing you to dial in your control levels.
- TetraBase is Non-abrasive and friendly to young fragile plants. Smooth surfaces are also ideal in a DWC environment to avoid any tiny pockets where bacteria growth can occur.
- Debris/Dust free. Unlike Clay balls, TetraBase will not discolor your roots, water, or deteriorate and drop into your plumbing system which would wreak havoc on your pump and chiller.
- TetraBase is CLEAN and even if it does manage to get loose into the system, it floats on the surface so it will not be an issue for your pump/plumbing system.
Q: How do you clean TetraBase?
A: TetraBase is made from the same materials as your buckets and many other parts in the HydraMax System and may be cleaned like any other part. One suggestion would be to place the TetraBase into a mesh bag(s) and add this to a bucket(s) in the system when circulating a cleaning solution through the system.
Q: How much TetraBase do I need?
A: TetraBase is packaged in 6 liter and 1 liter bags. Not all net pots are created equal and can vary in volume but generally, a 5.5" or 6" net pot holds about 1 liter of media.
Q: Can you only grow well rooted clones out of TetraBase?
A: Most of our customers are using bare roots clones which is the best route for transplanting but if you are using cubes, the most important is that the water touches the roots for the first few days. After a few days, you should have some nice growth and can drop the water level.
