What is the Faven CX2 Smart Controller?

The CX2 is Faven's proprietary controller required to operate Chroma fixtures. Since the Chroma runs on Faven's own digital control protocol rather than standard 0-10V, a CX2 (or an integrated panel that supports Faven's protocol) is required to unlock spectrum control and independent far red channel access.

How many Chroma fixtures can one CX2 support?

One CX2 controller supports up to 150 Chroma units.

Do I need a CX2 if I already have a lighting control panel?

It depends on your panel. Faven is fully integrated with Growlink — if you're running Growlink, you can plug your standard RJ12 connection directly into the Growlink system to control Chroma fixtures without a separate CX2. Faven is also in discussions with other panel manufacturers to add native protocol support. For all other control platforms, the CX2 is currently required.

Will a CX2 work with R6 or R8 fixtures?

R6 and R8 fixtures use standard 0-10V control and don't require the CX2. The CX2 is specifically built to run Faven's digital protocol for the Chroma line.

How does far red scheduling work on the CX2?

The CX2 supports multiple lighting cycles per schedule. Far red timing — such as running the far red channel for 5 minutes immediately after the top lights turn off — is set up directly on the controller's interactive schedule graph, with no additional hardware required.
