HLVd is a single-stranded, circular infectious RNA, is a plant pathogen that causes growth deficiencies and stunting/dudding of the plant. We can identify Hop Latent infections at all stages of growth and will help create action plans to reduce infection rates.
This test is essential for nurseries and any facility bringing in outside genetics.
When Should I Do A Hop Latent Viroid Test?
Growers should consider HLVd testing:
- Every new clone or seed lot
- Bi‑annually on mother stock

- Finding: One of ten mothers positive
- Action: Destroy infected plant, clean tools with 10 % bleach, require negative HLVD certificate on all incoming cuts.
