Active Aqua's Grow Flow 12 Site Hydroponics system with 5 Gallon growth modules is the most efficient ebb & flow system on the market. If you are a new or experienced grower looking for a large hydroponic system but you don't want to spend an arm and a leg, this is the system for you.

Why Grow In The Active Aqua Grow Flow 12 Site Hydroponics System with 5 Gallon Growth Modules

The main reason this is an excellent hydroponics system is because its budget-friendly, at just over $500. Compare that to other 12 site systems, which easily run over $1,000. This system is super beginner friendly as well, featuring the Active Aqua Grow Flow's easy-to-program controller. You can essentially set the controller and forget it, with peace of mind that it will continue working worry free.

Since the pumps on the Active Aqua Grow Flow 12 Site Hydroponics System with 5 Gallon Growth Modules only pump for a short time each day, the system is very reliable and even more efficient. Simply choose your flood and drain cycles, and the system will take care of the rest!

The Active Aqua Grow Flow 12 Site Hydroponics System with 5 Gallon Growth Modules is also very safe, as it is one of the only units that has fail-safe overflow protection. If the float valve stops operation, LED indicator lights up on the control panel and the system will automatically be shut down. This prevents any damage to your growing area or equipment from spillage.

Love the system

I really am pleased with this system. My dad has a system that is about 10 years old and he plans to buy this one next year. I think that there are some tips that I learned the first year to take to the next year set up. 1. Let the hose sit in the sun for a day or so outside so it is easier to work with. 2, lay out the pots where you want them then cut the hose and put on the adapters first. After that is done then put the buckets on the adapters. This will keep the hoses more flat and it is easier to get them on without the buckets. 3. If you have a space that is more shaded or covered then put the tank and controller box there in the shade and fan out the buckets to the sun. Even if you have to put a longer first section of hose to get to the son. This will the water cooler in the tank and limit some of the UW exposure that will harm the system over the years. 4. The system calls for clay pellets as the medium. My dad uses rock wool. I ended up with a mix of both that was preferred. 5. Alternate the plants that will grow straight up and vine down. This will help keep them in their own space and will be easier for you to see what is growing where.

Could be better

A few improvements and it would be perfect:
1) minor annoyance but the hoses are very stiff and make assembly difficult. The buckets, lids, pumps, fittings tend to get pushed and pulled out of place.

2) it would be nice if a couple barbed 3/4" 90's and tee's came with it so it could be adapted for different rooms/configurations.

3) it should come with caps/plugs for the control bucket outlets. It has 6 outlets. The instructions say to plug pairs of outlets you aren't using by connecting 2 together with a piece of hose and/or plug unused single outlets by kinking and ziptying a piece of hose on an outlet. The problem is the hose is so stiff, kinking it doesn't create a leakproof seal and connecting 2 together with the hose forces the outlet fittings outward (hose is stiff) causing them to sit in the grommets at nearly a 45 deg. angle. I used 1/2" pvc plugs and short pieces of hose to make plugs. It would be nice to have grommet plugs or barb fitting caps included so that you dont have this problem and get rid of unnecessary hoses sticking out of the side of the bucket that get in the way of things.

My upper float switch was faulty out of the box [shorted inside the switch body] and tech support didn't answer my calls so I just ordered a suitable float switch that would fit in the bracket from mcmaster carr and soldered the wires in.
