Fluorescent T5 Grow Light Bulbs & Replacement Tubes
T5 fluorescent grow light tubes are the replacement lamp for T5 fixtures used in propagation, cloning, seedling production, and vegetative growth applications. Unlike HPS and MH lamps that lose output significantly after 10,000 hours, T5 fluorescent tubes maintain relatively stable output but gradually decline in intensity and shift spectrally over time — replacement at 12–18 months of regular use is common in commercial propagation programs.
T5 Bulb Spectra: 6400K, 3000K & Full Spectrum
T5 fluorescent tubes are available in color temperature options that suit different growing stages. 6400K (cool white/daylight) tubes emit a blue-dominant spectrum well-matched to compact vegetative growth — the most common choice for propagation, clone, and mother plant applications. 3000K (warm white) tubes emit a red-dominant spectrum better suited to flowering and fruiting applications under T5 lighting. Full-spectrum T5 bulbs (5000K–6500K with broader spectral coverage) provide a more balanced photon distribution across the PAR range. Agrosun T5 horticultural tubes are qualified brand options at Hydrobuilder — designed specifically for plant growth applications with enhanced red and blue output compared to standard commercial T5 office lighting tubes.
T5 Bulb Compatibility
T5 tubes (54W, 2400mm or 28W, 1200mm) are not directly interchangeable with T8 or T12 tubes — they use different ballast types and pin configurations. Confirm your fixture’s lamp type (T5 HO, T5, T8) before ordering replacements. Most horticulture T5 fixtures use T5 HO (high output) tubes at 54W for 4-foot fixtures.
