It all started with a brother and sister, Evert and Yvonne Brandenburg, who owned several coffee shops and cafes in Amsterdam in the 1980s and 90s. The most popular location was Future Coffee Shop, the birthplace of Futurola in 1996.

Building on their early success, the Brandenburgs created the game-changing Knockbox 100 - a device that disrupted the pre-roll cone production process and changed the way custom cones were filled at scale. Futurola has since expanded the Knockbox line to include the Knockbox 50, 100, and 300.

The Futurola Knockbox is a high-speed cone filling machine, capable of filling 100 pre-rolled cones in 2 minutes - built for businesses that need consistent, uniform cones at production volume rather than filling cones one at a time by hand.

A cone filler machine like the Knockbox fills multiple cones at once, producing uniform, well-packed cones with far less hands-on time than manual filling. It's built for operations that need to fill a large batch quickly and consistently.

The Futurola Shredder

The Futurola Shredder is a high-intensity grinder built to process dry plant material quickly - it can shred and de-stem up to 3 pounds of material in 7 seconds. It trims leaf material fast, helping keep processing time down while preserving material quality through the cycle.

Trimmed material recovered during shredding can be repurposed for other uses like composting, reducing overall waste. The Futurola Super Shredder Mini, Super Shredder, and Super Shredder Mega models add a Screen Barrel for catching and sifting stems, making de-stemming faster and more efficient across the line.

Futurola introduced the Knockbox cone filling system in 2015 and the Shredder in 2017, and has built a reputation for reliable customer support alongside its equipment. Pre-rolled cones are individually hand-rolled using ultra-thin rolling paper and organic arabic gum.
