Dry Trimming Machines

After all the hard work you put in over the last few months to grow your prized plants, you must decide on either trimming your plants while they are still wet or after they have dried.

What Is Dry Trimming?

Trimming "dry" means that you have allowed your flowers, buds or leaves to dry out before you hand trim or machine trim them. This process is our recommended way to trim and will leave you with a better quality end product.

First, use a drying rack or freeze dryer to remove excess moisture from your plants.

Trimming your plants after they have had a chance to be hung up and dried on the stem has many advantages over trimming your plants while still wet. First off, trimming dry will leave you with a much better smelling, better looking, and smoother tasting end product.

The longer you allow your plants to dry, the more chlorophyll you will let fade away, which is what gives your flowers the green taste and smell that consumers don’t enjoy. Trimming dry often will result in a closer cut, making your flowers much more presentable to the end user. Another benefit to trimming dry is that the trim is better for making extracts or concentrates.

What are the best dry trimming machine?

Here at Hydrobuilder, we highly suggest you consider trimming your plant when dry with a dry trimming machine like Twister, CenturionPro, Triminator or any other dry trimmer for the best results. However, there are situations where trimming your plants while still wet is not only a good idea but is a necessity.

For instance, larger commercial grow facilities are on a limited time schedule, so trimming plants while wet with a wet trimming machine will result in a faster harvest process and reduces the amount of space it takes to hang your plants on the stem while drying.
