Use of Information

We understand and respect the importance of maintaining your privacy and keeping your information confidential. We will only collect information from you when you have knowingly provided it to us, such as subscribing to our newsletter. All information collected is used solely for the purpose of processing orders or to inform our e-mail subscribers and customer of special offers. We will not sell, share or rent any personal information with any other companies or third parties without your authorization.

Security

The security of your personal information is important to us. When you enter sensitive information (such as credit card number) on our order forms, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL).

We follow accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

If you have any questions about security on our Web site, please call us or email us!

Credit Card Information

For safety we do not store your credit card information. It does have to be saved however in case you need a refund or to change your order. When entered on our secured payment page your credit card number is sent through Authorize.net, verified, and your order is processed. Authorize.net is the leading provider of secure online transaction services. They store your credit card information managed by a team of security professionals. During the checkout process look for the https (the "s" added on to the normal http) - this tells you a webpage is secure. We also use a third party shipping provider to ship the products ordered on the site.

Registration

In order to process your orders placed on this website, you must complete the registration form. During registration, you will be required to provide your contact information, which includes your name, e-mail address, telephone number and street address. This information is used to provide you with services such as automated order status updates via e-mail.

Ordering

Most of the information collected in the registration process will be used to process orders. During the order process, you will have to provide financial information such as your credit card number, expiration date, money order, wire transfer or check information. This information is used for billing purposes and to fulfill your order. If we have trouble processing an order, we will use this contact information to get in touch with you. To properly process your credit card information, we must share your personal and financial information with the merchant bank for authorization and approval. This process is protected by an enhanced security system. See the Security section below for more details on security measures and procedures. We do not share your personal and financial information with any third parties.

Browsing Behavior

We track anonymous usage statistics - what pages are being viewed, what terms are being searched for etc. We don't know who is doing what though. This information helps us improve the website for you by spotting popular content, places people get confused, etc. We won't know that you searched for "garden hoses" but we will know somebody searched for "garden hoses". The program we use is Google Analytics, you may visit Google's website for more details.

Interest-Based Advertising and Other Targeted Advertising

We collect data about your activities on our websites and applications for use in providing tailored advertising, and we may share information about activities on our websites with advertising networks administered by third parties. These ad networks track your online activities over time and across websites by collecting information through automated means, and they use this information to show you advertisements that are tailored to your individual interests. As a result, you may see certain ads on other websites based on prior activities on our websites and vice versa.

To provide you with a consistent shopping experience, we may also associate various devices you utilize (e.g., smartphones, tablets, and desktop computers) by using the information we collect about you. We may combine information we collect from your devices with other information we have about you, your interaction with our sites, apps and services, and your transaction history.

The Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) has created guidance for online advertisers and provided a mechanism for such advertisers to comply with users' choices regarding internet-based ads. To learn more about ad networks, including how to opt-out of interest-based ads, click here.

Do Not Track Information

Some browsers have a “Do Not Track” feature that lets you tell websites that you do not want to have your online activities tracked. This feature can be found in your browser’s privacy settings.. Enabling/disabling the Do Not Track feature in your browser does not ensure that all websites you visit will respond to the request. Hydrobuilder.com does not respond to Do Not Track signals at this time. Third-party advertisers on Hydrobuilder.com may or may not respond to these requests.
