Should I put a humidifier in my grow room?

If you find your humidity isn't high enough, you will need to take immediate steps to rectify it. Without enough moisture in the air, growth will slow, and photosynthesis will be less efficient

You will see signs of dehydration since there is no moisture being absorbed through plant leaves. This will lead to a host of problems, such as the drying out of plant leaves. Inadequate humidity can also lead to nutrient burn because when plants are unable to absorb moisture through the stomata in their leaves, they will take up more water through roots. The root zone will also contain nutrients, and the plant will absorb more of these than ideal.

A humidifier is a device that adds moisture and humidity to the air, at which point a fan or blower recirculates the moisture to the entirety of the grow room.

What is the best humidity for plants?

The reason humidifiers are so essential in a grow room is because many indoor crops have an ideal humidity range, being 40-50% during veg and flowering. For seeds and clones, this range can be as high as 70-75%. It is rare for this range to occur naturally indoors.

If the humidity rises too much, plants will become susceptible to mold and mildews, and growers will need to utilize a dehumidifier.

Where should a humidifier be placed in a room?

Making sure you place your humidifier in the grow room is important. You want to set it up to give your grow the best chance for success, which means placing it near your fans to help circulate the humidity around the growing space.

How can I humidify my grow room without a humidifier?

Not every grow is big enough to justify purchasing a humidifier for the plants. Sometimes, you just need to increase humidity a little bit. There are a few tricks we know of for doing this, such as keeping moisture in the air with a spray bottle, or keeping a reservoir near the plants with water in it. Neither of these are ideal, but if you don't have the cash for a humidifier, these may help.
