What Is Netafim Drip Irrigation?
Netafim drip irrigation is an automated nutrient and moisture delivery system. These are the most efficient and cost effective currently on the market, and growers around the world are using it to optimize their crop and increase yields, along with overall plant quality.
By delivering water and nutrients directly to the root zone, plants get exactly what they did, in the right amounts, when they need it!
This leads to explosive growth, and you’ll be amazed at how your plants reward you for your investment in them!
Not only will you grow bigger, better plants with netafim drip irrigation systems. You’ll also save money as you can dial back on the resources you use like water, plant nutrients, and energy. This means a serious increase in profit, as you can demand higher prices, sell more product, and cut costs all at once!
How Can Netafim Irrigation Systems Be Used?
One of the best things about Netafim Irrigation Systems is how versatile they are - you can install these in just about any grow.
Whether you grow indoors, grow outdoors, or grow in a greenhouse - whether you’re hobby or commercial - there is a way you can configure your own automated irrigation setup and take advantage of all the benefits we just touched on. Here is a full list of instances in which these can be used:
- Indoor Growing (both home growers & small indoor operations)
- Commercial Outdoor or Greenhouse/Hoophouse (10,000-43,500 sq. ft)
- Open Field Agriculture
Can Netafim Be Buried?
A lot of our growers are outdoors, and struggle with birds or rodents puncturing their open, exposed lines. So, can Netafim be buried instead?
Yes - Netafim irrigation systems can be buried to protect your lines while still working as intended.
Simply install it above ground as you would usually, and staple it or anchor it in place. Then, you can cover up the lines with mulch or whatever media you’re growing in.
In outdoor grows, this is actually the recommended installation method because it helps saturate the media with moisture for longer periods of time, and decreases the rate of evaporation.

You can purchase Netafim irrigation tubing in as little as 500 feet or as much as 1,000 feet. You also get to choose between 5mm, 17mm, ¾” or 1” tubing size.
Polyethylene Tubing is UV and acid resistant, and built to stand the test of time. It’s opaque to prevent algae growth, keeping pathogens from building up and making their way to your plants. This opaqueness also helps battle heat, harsh chemicals, and other impurities.
Netafim Irrigation Drippers, Sprayers, & Emitters
Of course, after you have your Netafim Irrigation Tubing you need to then add the drippers, sprayers, & emitters you need to actually deliver the water/nutrients from the tubing to your plants.
We carry a wide range of options that fall under this category, including standard single drip stake assemblies, 2 & 4 way drippers (in packs of 25), and even special pressure compensating drippers.
While the standard style drippers are great for most growers, these patented pressure differential drippers are able to maintain a more uniform flow rate to ensure exact distribution of water and nutrients.
It’s more resistant to clogging, and ideal for areas with difficult topographical conditions. Whether you grow in a vineyard, orchard, greenhouse or nursery - the best drippers & emitters are an essential part of your Netafim Irrigation System.
Netafim Pressure Regulators & Valves
Controlling hydraulic flow and protecting your Netafim drip irrigation system is going to be key to your success. To ensure this, you’ll need to implement Netafim pressure regulators & valves.
These have proven to be reliable in even the harshest conditions, as they’re designed to withstand the specific rigors that come with drip irrigation - corrosion, fungal activity, chemical damage, and UV damage are not a concern with these.
They’re also incredibly versatile, with multiple configurations like pressure regulating, pressure sustaining, or even quick relief.
When a water hammer strikes, you don’t have time to fumble around with your valves. You need rapid and precise control, which is what these Netafim pressure regulators & valves offer.
Here at Hydrobuilder, we have the pressure regulators you need - whether you need to control a wide range of pressures, convert high inlet pressure to a lower level, or anything in between.

And while you may be able to use one of the RO filters or dechlorinators we carry, the Netafim Irrigation Filters are built specifically to work with these systems, making them an integral part of your setup.
This disc style filter offers 3 times better filtration efficiency than the competition, and is more durable and long lasting, too.
It implements an efficient backflush process which enables better irrigation uniformity and keeps your system clean. Dirty water doesn’t stand a chance at any pressure level, no foreign matter is getting through this filter!

How Do I Install Netafim Drip Irrigation?
If you’re wondering how to install your netafim drip irrigation system, you first need to figure out how you’re going to configure the system.
This requires you to take a good, hard look at your grow room or crop and determine what makes the most sense.
First and foremost, you need to buy a complete Netafim irrigation system. Ensure you have every necessary component, or you won’t be able to complete your setup.
If you’re not exactly sure how you want to even set your system up, you can check out some of the configurations Netafim themselves recommend on their resources page. Then, come back here and follow the steps below:
- Set up your feed line. Connect your filter and pressure regulator and/or valve to your water source. Then you can run the low density poly pipe towards your plants (the are that needs to be irrigated).
- Lay out your drip line, and punch holes into it where your plants are so you can attach your emitters and actually water them. Try and create a grid shape, which will create the greatest efficiency. Then, connect your drip line to your feed line.
- Install your flush valve at the end of the collection line, the lowest point in your dripper system. Then, manually flush the lines for a period to remove any impurities.
- Configure your irrigation settings - add your timer, set the on/off times, and ensure your reservoir or hose is always ready to go. Now, you’re up and running!
