HIGHER YIELDS, FEWER PROBLEMS
The right dehumidification setup can take your indoor grow operation to the next level. Say goodbye to crop losses from molds and other pests, and say hello to peak productivity with the Quest Dehumidifier.
The Quest Overhead Dehumidifier offers horizontal configuration, patent-pending dual outlet design, and insulated cabinet for quieter operation. These features enable their exceptional performance in almost any application. The Quest Dehumidifier is plug and play, requiring no installation. You can add an optional condensate pump and ducting kits to provide ultimate flexibility for the most challenging space restrictions and specialized applications. MERV-11 filtration is standard on these units, capturing particles (including mold spores) down to 1 micron in size.
Higher Crop Yields, Less Problems
One of the biggest challenges for the indoor farming industry is creating and maintaining a stable, consistent environment for plants to flourish. Without a reliable climate, you could lose your entire crop. Once you lose control of your environment, serious crop-crushing issues begin to take hold. The two main “crop-crushers” are concerns many growers face at one time or another: powdery mildew and botrytis, more commonly known as bud rot. Either of these issues can destroy a grow and lead to lost revenue.
Proper Dehumidification Can Make All The Difference
Whether it’s a greenhouse or a hydroponic grow the same principles come into play when you’re fine-tuning a setup. For moisture control and dehumidification, the three most important aspects are proper sizing, placement, and airflow. Quest engineers developed our product offerings to allow for flexible and customizable options to address all three.

Quest Dehumidifier 335
The Quest 335 is engineered specifically for commercial cannabis growers facing the heavy workload of grow houses filled with moisture-producing crops. At the core of Quest’s 335 is a pressure switch connected to a variable speed fan. When the switch detects a change in pressure (primarily due to a dirty filter), the fan slowly ramps up its speed to maintain the desired CFM, which results in consistent humidity control. The Quest 335 uses a multi-coil design similar to the one used in the Quest 506. The end result is 335 pints of water pulled from the air every 24 hours at 80F and 60% relative humidity at 9.3 KWh.

Quest Dehumidifier 335 277 Volt
The NEW 335 277V dehumidifiers offer the same quality and features as our original Quest 335 208/230V units, but rather offer 277V voltages for use in industrial facilities. The 277V unit is a great fit for grow rooms, many of which traditionally have 277V outlets already installed for lighting. In such case the 277V unit eliminates the need for additional installation of buck-boost transformers and associated costs of wiring. Additionally, these higher voltage units use less amperage, freeing up electricity for other equipment in the grow room.
Both Quest 335 units (208/230V and 277V) boasts our unique patent pending multi-coil design that provides the highest efficiencies available on the market. They also feature Quest’s filter compensation technology, which increases fan speed as the filter becomes increasingly clogged with pollen, powdery mildew and dirt. This speed adjustment allows for the same amount of air to pass through the filter without reducing the cubic feet for minute (CFM). As a result, the Quest 335 is able to work consistently and constantly to optimize your grow room environment with maximum energy efficiency and consistency.

How do I size a dehumidifier for a grow room?
Plants transpire about 97% of the water they receive, so the amount of water your plants consume is approximately the amount that needs to be removed each day. For example, 30 plants each receiving ½ gallon per day is an average of 15 gallons water per day. Every gallon of water is 8 pints. This example works out to 120 pints per day.
Isn’t my air conditioner a dehumidifier?
Yes, but there are issues with this solution.
1. Air conditioners remove water only when they are running. In most cases when the grow lights are off, the air conditioner is off as well. Lights-off time is when humidity is most problematic.
2. Using an air conditioner to dry a room will overcool the room, potentially causing plant stress. This will also use a significantly greater amount of energy than a Quest commercial dehumidifier.
3. The more energy efficient the air conditioner, the less moisture it actually removes. An efficient air conditioner is a terrible dehumidifier.
4. The re-heat method. Some air conditioners offer an optional heating coil as a dehumidification option. Essentially, by adding artificial heat to the room, the air conditioner is forced to operate when the lights are off and thus the air conditioner removes water. While this method works, and can be used in a pinch, it’s a poor long term solution and will use 4-8x the energy as a Quest dehumidifier. 4-8x the energy use is roughly equal to $5,000-$25,000 per year in unnecessary energy consumption.
What if I live in Arizona, New Mexico or a dry state, do I need a dehumidifier?
While it may be dry outdoors, growing in a sealed environment changes things a good bit. Growers using sealed rooms, even in the driest of outdoor climates, almost always require dehumidifiers. The higher quality of the grow room design and construction, the more critical a dehumidifier will be.
What is the ideal humidity?
Because every plant is different, it is hard to pick just one number. However, most research indicates that 45-55% RH is the safe zone where plants are healthy, spore germination is unlikely, and pests find the environment unappealing.
How much money does a Quest dehumidifier save me in electricity?
Quest is the leader in energy efficiency and one of our models is the most energy efficient dehumidifier ever built. Depending on the model, Quest dehumidifiers can save commercial growers $100-$200 a month in electricity per unit. That’s $1,200-$2,500 per dehumidifier per year.
Can the water be reused?
Yes, Quest dehumidifiers produce neutral pH, very low TDS water. This water is safe for all plants, even consumable ones.
