What is a T5 Light Bulb?
T5 light bulbs are incredibly efficient, low heat lights that are used for a ton of things, including indoor growing. When you first start off your plants, whether it be seeds or clones, they don't need very much light. Many growers will use a T5 grow light for the first few weeks of a plants life to save money on energy, prevent heat from building up, and giving the plant the type of light it needs in this stage.
T5 grow light bulbs are not ideal for taking a plant from seed to harvest, though, as they arent super powerful. Once your plant starts vegging, you'll want to find a more powerful light source.

The final step in choosing the right fluroescent T5 tube for your grow is choosing a color temp (kelvin rating). The lower your color rating, the more red the light will be. The higher the color rating, the more blue it is.
