What is ice water extraction?

Cold water extraction, also known as ice water extraction, uses a simple process to remove pollen or trichomes from plant materials, flowers, or trimmings to extract hash. This time-tested method is one of the original ways to create extracts and it still very popular due to its simplicity and cost-effectiveness. You end up with a super potent, pure final product that can be enjoyed on its own or used to create other forms of extracts, such as rosin.

How does ice water extraction work?

This technique works by gently mixing ice, water, and plant materials together in "Bubble Bags" or "Bubble Machines" to freeze and separate the resin from the plant material, which it then will sink to the bottom of the bags where it will be strained through various sizes micron screens. You then will drain the water from the bag and will be left with resin that you can then press with an Extraction Press to remove excess water or press with a Rosin Heat Press to create Rosin, a concentrated oil like sap substance.
