Compost tea is a great way to supplement your soil with organic matter, which can lead to prevention of pathogens, excellent nourishment for the plant itself, and improved growing conditions within the soil.
What is compost tea made of?
Compost tea contains biologically active organic matter, usually from plants. Sometimes, compost tea can be derived from animal waste. Some common ingredients in compost tea are:
- Molasses
- Guano
- Fish powder
- Sugars
- Fulvic and humic acids
- Rock dust
How long do you aerate compost tea?
Once the compost is added to water and brewed, it needs to aerate. This is important to introduce oxygen into the mix, which will help our soil. We recommend you allow your compost tea to bubble for one day, and stir a few times throughout the day if possible, to prevent settling.
