Fan Speed Controllers

Take any guess work out of your fan control and get one of Hydrobuilder’s fan speed controllers. The fan controllers help prevent damage to the fan motors and helps you utilize other components of your hydroponic setup or grow room more efficiently like your carbon filter.

We also carry fan speed controllers that allow you to preset your daytime and night time fan speeds.

What is a fan speed controller?

A fan speed controller works in conjunction with your fans. In the grow room, fans are responsible for helping maintain temperatures, and providing a gentle breeze.

More importantly, however, intake and exhaust fans make up the ventilation system, and keep fresh air cycling into the grow room and grow tent.

Why use a fan speed controller?

Growers need to adjust the speed of their fans in accordance to the temperature in the grow room. For example, when temperatures are too high, fans need to work harder to lower them. When temperatures are low, fans can be turned down.

One specific situation where fan speed needs to be adjusted is during the lights off period. Some of these fan speed controllers have photocell, which will sync up fans with the grow light schedule. When the lights turn off, fan speed will be reduced or turned off altogether, and when lights turn back on, fans will turn back up.
