Active Cooling

PhytoMAX-4 increases efficiency and maximizes lifespan by actively cooling the LEDs. Cooler LEDs run more efficiently and have a longer lifespan, especially for the specialty UV and violet LEDs we use. While fans are a moving part, we've never had one fail in tens of thousands of lights over the past 13 years, plus our patented design includes multiple redundant fans. Even if one were to fail, your light will keep running just fine.

Go BEYOND PAR with our Phyto-Genesis Spectrum

The Phyto-Genesis Spectrum has been finely-tuned to not just grow plants, but to grow more-compact, more-productive and higher-quality flowers, fruit and leaves. Unlike most LED grow lights that use white or white and red LEDs, we incorporate 8 different LED colors to target specific responses from the plants, known as photomorphogenesis.

Our spectrum triggers plants' hormonal response to different colors of light and the ratio of these colors to minimize stem growth while maximizing flower and fruit production. Compact, bushier plants are not only easier to work with but also maximize yield per square foot.

Why include ultraviolet (UV) in the LED spectrum?

Ultraviolet (UV) light has a wavelength shorter than 400nm and contains more energy per photon than light in the 400-700nm Photosynthetic Active Radiation (PAR) region of the spectrum.

At Black Dog LED we believe in making lights that provide the best possible grow results, rather than lights that look good on paper. Ultraviolet light grows higher-quality plants and increases canopy penetration, so we include it in our spectrum.

UV light stimulates several different photomorphogenic responses in plants. Plants exposed to UV light create higher levels of natural compounds that growers are seeking. By including UV in our spectrum, we grow higher-quality plants with richer qualities of what you're growing the plants for.

UV grow lights for plants also help increase canopy penetration, allowing for more productive plants as well. Although UV light does not count toward PAR directly, it helps deliver more PAR-spectrum photons lower into the plant canopy.

PhytoMAX-4 SC & SX

The PhytoMAX-4 Series can also come in the SC and SX models which can handle up to 277 volts and 347 volts respectively. The only difference between the three models is the power cord and the voltage they can handle.

The SC and SX models have a locking, water-tight power cord and can handle being in greenhouse-like environments, unlike the SP model. Please contact us if you are interested in either of the SC or SX models.
