If you are tired of swapping out your bulbs from veg to flower, consider using a dual arc bulb (MH+HPS)! These super convenient bulbs combine the technology of metal halide (MH) and high-pressure sodium (HPS) in one bulb, saving you money on additional fixtures. With these, you can use the same fixture from seed to harvest. But how effective are these bulbs?
Do Dual Arc Bulbs Work Well?
Part of the reason many growers are hesitant to use dual arc bulbs is because they fear that instead of getting the best of both worlds, they'll end up with mediocre lighting during both stages of growth. But, these dual arc bulbs are actually really effective. You are able to give your plant light from both spectrums simultaneously, for the most balanced growing experience.
Often times, these bulbs have a set wattage dedicated to MH and a set wattage for HPS. For example, a 1,000 watt dual arc bulb will consist of 600 watts HPS and 400 watts MH.
