Which color of light is best for growing plants?
During the vegetative stage, we want to promote robust, leafy growth. The best color for this is the blue spectrum. As we switch our plants to flower, we want to deliver a high dose of light from the red spectrum. There is no "best" light, because plants need a full spectrum of light for the heaviest yields. For this reason, some growers will have both a Veg Spectrum LED Grow Light and a Bloom Spectrum LED Grow Light
What is a full spectrum LED?
Full spectrum refers to a lights ability to emit the entire lighting spectrum a plant needs. This attempts to imitate the sun, providing both infrared and ultraviolet light, and everything in between. Note that growers have seen dramatic increases in the quality of their harvest when using a UV Spectrum LED Grow Light as a supplemental light! A Full-Spectrum LED Grow Light contains light from the UV spectrum, blue light for vegging, and red light for blooming, and thus allows growers to use one light in the indoor garden from veg to harvest.
