Upgrade Your PurePressure Pikes Peak Rosin Press With Automated Pressure Control
Step into the future a little early. The Automated Pressure Control upgrade kit is the next major evolution in commercial rosin pressing.
This feature replaces your Dual Pressure regulator system with a fully digital pressure control unit, thereby dramatically increasing material throughput and ease of use, even with the most difficult to press materials.
This upgrade kit is available for all PurePressure rosin presses as a one-time, plug-and-play upgrade, which runs on our Pressware™ system.
With the Automated Pressure Control upgrade kit, a PurePressure press will literally help train you how to use it with its preset recipes. Tested on 6* bubble, the system offers a slew of new features for experts to take advantage of as well, including the new warmup pre-press option.

Automated Pressure Control Features
- Unparalleled rosin press pressure control, all from the Pressware™ screen - increase by as little as 1 PSI at a time or simply set the PSI to whatever you want
- The new "Warmup" features allow you to pause the position of your plates wherever you'd like so that you can pre-warm your bag, like a hydraulic rosin press

Choosing an Air Compressor
As noted above, this package doesn't include an air compressor. If you are new to pressing rosin, you may be confused trying to figure out what type and what size you need, but don't worry! We recommend an air compressor that reaches at least 145 psi, a tank size of 30 gallons, and a CFM rating of 1.7 or greater.
An Example : "I need an air compressor and I want to run 1 Pikes Peak Press as well as a pneumatic air tool that requires 11 CFM at 120 psi. Which air compressor should I buy?"
- Add CFM ratings: 1.7 (Press) + 11 (Air Tool) = 12.7 CFM
- Multiply by 1.3 for wiggle room: 12.7 x 1.3 = 16.5 CFM
- Multiply by 1.2 for Denver's altitude: 16.5 x 1.2 = 19.8 CFM
- Your air requirement is roughly 20 CFM
Choosing A Rosin Bag
For dry sift use a 36 micron or 72-micron bag. 72-micron rosin bags will offer higher yields compared to 36-micron rosin bags, but the 36-micron bags will provide the highest quality product. For the flower, sifting use a 115 micron or 90-micron bag. You will get the highest yield from a 115-micron rosin bag compared with a 90-micron rosin bag, but the 90-micron bags will give you more filtration and a slightly higher quality product.

- 72 micron - High level of filtration, increased yields over 36 micron when pressing dry sift
- 90 micron - Higher level of filtration for use with flower rosin pressing

The Pikes Peak Press was engineered to provide years and years of reliability while giving you the highest quality press on the market. You, the user, have complete control over heat plate temperatures, press time, operating pressure (digital readout), and actuating speed.
The Pikes Peak features 10" x 2.5" heat plates with our Dual Pressure system. Our pneumatic cylinder requires no oiling or maintenance and through its unique design is able to achieve nearly 5 tons of force with only 120 PSI compressed air. These extremely high forces ensure that all of your rosin is extracted efficiently. Which Material Should I Use?
Yields range significantly and depend largely on the quality of the materials used.
- Trim: 3% - 8%
- Shake: 8% - 15%
- Flower: 15% - 30%
- Dry Sift: 30% - 60%+
- Ice Water Extractions: 30% - 70%+
Note: Adequate application of pressure is important to achieve optimal yields and these figures are based on averages tests. Results may vary and depend heavily on your material as well as the operator.

Depending on your material, the proper micron bags are suggested but results will always vary.

What Temperature Is Ideal?
- Lower temperatures (200°F- 300°F) = more flavor/terpenes, less yield, end material is more stable (shatter-like consistency).
- Higher temperatures (300°F- 350°F) = less flavor/terpenes, more yield, end material is less stable (sap-like consistency).
How Much Pressure Should I Use?
There is no magic number for how much you need to press but most people use the formula of press pounds/plate surface area.
For example: A 10-ton press = 20,000 lbs. If you have a 3"x5" plate = 15 square inch. Hence, 20,000/15 = 1,333 PSI
Note: These numbers serve as a guide only. Results will always vary depending on temperature and material as well the press you choose. Refer to manufacturers recommendations for best results.
