The Bluelab Combo Meter is the ultimate tool for simple reservoir management. It provides serious hobby and commercial growers a reliable, accurate method for testing pH, conductivity, and temperature with just one piece of equipment.

The Bluelab Combo Meter Is 3 Tools In 1!

The Bluelab Combo Meter provides you easy access to the three data points you need to monitor in your nutrient solution: pH, EC, and temperature. Without constant access to these metrics, how do you know if your crop is optimized? You run the risk of developing deficiencies, toxicities, mold/mildew issues, stunted growth, and more.

But with this tool, you can quickly check your reservoir and ensure each parameter is in the ideal range for plant health. If you find they aren't you can quickly rectify them and get your grow back on track. The Bluelab Combo Meter features two probes, one for pH and one for EC/temperature. To take a reading from your reservoir, simply place the probes into your solution and the selected reading is displayed on screen.

This is a completely portable combination meter, and doesn't require any electricity or power supply to operate. You can take it anywhere you need, and manage your crops easily. Maintenance and care of the probes is simple, with instructions supplies on the back of the meter and easy to use buttons for calibration. You can easily replace the probe as needed, and use the same meter for years and years. You won't ever need to calibrate or replace the EC/temperature probe.

Bluelab Combo Meter Questions & Answers

What does E1: PH Mean?

This indicates that there is not enough difference between pH7.0 and pH4.0 when calibrating your pH probe.

Possible causes:

  • pH4.0 calibration solution is contaminated
  • The wrong solution has been used
  • The probe is contaminated
  • The probe is not properly attached
  • The probe is worn out or damaged

What does E4: PH Mean?

This indicates that the pH7.0 calibration is unreliable.

Possible causes:

  • ppH7.0 calibration solution is contaminated
  • The wrong solution has been used
  • The probe is contaminated
  • The probe is not properly attached
  • The probe is worn out or damaged

How do I test the EC and pH of soil?

The greatest source of error in soil analysis comes during sample collection. An effort should be made to ensure each sample properly represents the area being sampled.

Collection of Sample

  1. Sample in a zig-zag pattern across the required area.
  2. Remove 15mm (1/2inch) of top soil before sampling at a depth of 150mm (6 inches).
  3. Mix all collected samples together thoroughly.
  4. Allow to dry in air for one hour.
  5. Weigh out 20 grams (0.7oz) of the collected soil into a 150ml (approximately 7 fluid ounces) plastic sample jar.

Sample Preparation

  1. Add 100ml of distilled or deionised water, screw lid on tightly.
  2. Shake continuously for 5 minutes. Leave overnight and shake again the next morning.
  3. Allow to settle for 15 minuted after shaking and strain sample into clean measuring cup.
  4. Take pH and EC readings.
NOTES

  • The readings taken with this method will be higher than those taken by other methods.
  • Consistency of method used is important to be able to compare the two sets of results
  • The accuracy of this method cannot be guaranteed because of the variables involved. The results should be viewed as 'indicative' rather than 'absolute'.
