A common problem with young or newly transplanted plants is developing a strong, healthy root mass. Without a well-developed root system, the plant will struggle to receive adequate nutrients and water. So how can you increase root growth?
What stimulates root growth?
Referred to by a number of names, such as root stimulants, root boosters, or rooting hormones, these supplements contain important hormones that encourage and direct growth within the root system. They not only increase root growth, but help reduce waste and can even reduce mineral build up in your system.
Some of these contain an organic fungus known as Mycorrhizae, which extends the existing root system to reach deeper and gather more nutrients and water. Other hormones in these products include vitamin B1, auxin, phosphorous, nitrogen, and potassium. On top of creating a more robust root system, many believe these enhancers also increase resistance to disease!
Creating a healthy, extensive root system is key to a successful harvest down the road.
