HEPA Filter & Fan Intake Kits

The grow lights, CO2 producers, and other electric components in the grow room can generate a lot of heat. To maintain an environment conducive to plant growth, it is important to remove this hot, stagnant air and replace it with fresh, clean air. This is where the ventilation system in your grow room comes in.

What do intake fans and filters do in the grow room?

The intake fan and filter of your ventilation system have a very important job. They are responsible for bringing in fresh air, while the exhaust fan and filter remove the hot, smelly air from the environment. It is important to use a filter with your inline fan, because you only want clean air coming into your growing space.

HEPA filters are the best intake filter for grow rooms, because they filter out almost all contaminants that pass through. Without a good filter, plants would be susceptible to bacteria, dust, and other contaminants.

Why you should use a HEPA filter and fan intake kit

Putting together the different components of a ventilation system can be confusing. Instead of looking for all these components individually, just purchase a full kit! At Hydrobuilder, we have made this a one-step process for you with our complete ventilation and odor control kits!

Here is what is included in our complete intake fan and filter systems:

Pair one of these HEPA filter and fan intake kits with one of our carbon filter and fan exhaust kits, and you will have a complete ventilation system. This will provide your plants with the cleanest, highest quality air while effectively removing stinky, contaminated, hot air.

How often should air be replaced in the grow room?

One of the main reasons a ventilation system is needed is to constantly introduce fresh air into the grow room, while removing hot air and odors. To be safe, replace the air in the environment every 3 minutes or sooner.

When selecting a fan capable of exchanging the air in your grow tent or grow room, first consider how many cubic feet your space is. Fans are rated in CFM (cubic feet per minute), and this indicates how much air they are capable of moving in a minute.

We recommend growers size their fan as if they wanted to replace the air every minute. So, if your growing space is 500 cubic feet, you will need a fan rated 500 CFM.
