How often should air be replaced in the grow room?
One of the main reasons a ventilation system is needed is to constantly introduce fresh air into the grow room, while removing hot air and odors. To be safe, replace the air in the environment every 3 minutes or sooner.
When selecting a fan capable of exchanging the air in your grow tent or grow room, first consider how many cubic feet your space is. Fans are rated in CFM (cubic feet per minute), and this indicates how much air they are capable of moving in a minute.
We recommend growers size their fan as if they wanted to replace the air every minute. So, if your growing space is 500 cubic feet, you will need a fan rated 500 CFM.
