Cold water extraction, also known as ice water extractions use a simple process to remove pollen from plants materials, flowers, or trimmings. This time test method is one of the original ways to create extracts and it still very popular due to its simplicity and cost-effectiveness.
This technique works by gently mixing ice, water, and plant materials together in "Bubble Bags" or "Bubble Machines" to freeze and separate the resin from the plant material, which it then will sink to the bottom of the bags where it will be strained through various sizes micron screens. You then will drain the water from the bag and will be left with resin that you can then press with an Extraction Press to remove excess water or press with a Rosin Heat Press to create Rosin, a concentrated oil like sap substance.
