β οΈ LED disclaimer: This estimator uses 1.1 g/W as a conservative LED baseline. Actual yields vary significantly by fixture quality, spectrum, PPFD distribution, VPD, nutrients, and cultivar. Budget LED fixtures may perform closer to 0.6β0.8 g/W; premium full-spectrum LEDs can exceed 1.5 g/W under expert conditions. Use as a planning target, not a guarantee.
How to use this calculator
Enter total true watts of your grow lights β use wall-draw, not "equivalent" wattage.
Select your light type β LED, HPS/MH, or CMH. Each has a different efficiency baseline.
Choose your strain type β Indica, Sativa, Hybrid, or Autoflower affects yield modifier and bloom length.
Set your veg and flower weeks β longer veg generally means bigger plants and higher yields.
Advanced mode: add COβ enrichment, training technique, and experience level for a refined estimate.
Click Estimate Yield β your harvest weight, g/W efficiency, and full grow timeline appear. Open the Production Timeline to see your Gantt chart.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much yield can I expect per watt of grow light?
A common benchmark for LED grow lights is 1.0β1.5 grams per watt (g/W) under optimized conditions. Beginners often achieve 0.5β0.8 g/W, while experienced growers with dialed-in VPD, COβ enrichment, and canopy training can reach 1.5+ g/W. This calculator uses 1.1 g/W as a conservative LED baseline, which reflects realistic intermediate-level results.
How long does a full grow cycle take from seed to harvest?
A typical indoor photoperiod cycle takes 12β20 weeks total: 4β8 weeks vegetative, 8β12 weeks flowering (strain-dependent), plus 7β14 days drying and 14β28 days curing. Autoflowers finish faster at 8β10 weeks total from seed to harvest. The Production Timeline chart in this tool shows your full calendar visually.
Does COβ enrichment really increase yield?
Yes β supplemental COβ at 1,200β1,500 ppm can increase yields by 20β30% compared to ambient COβ levels (~400 ppm), provided other factors like light intensity, temperature, and nutrients are also optimized. Below 800 ppm enrichment, additional COβ has minimal effect. Plants can't use more COβ than their light and nutrient levels allow.
What training techniques produce the highest yield?
High-Stress Training (HST) techniques like topping, FIMing, and mainlining can increase yields 20β40% by creating multiple equal colas instead of one dominant main cola. Low-Stress Training (LST) and SCROG (Screen of Green) produce an even canopy for consistent PPFD across all bud sites. Both approaches add 1β2 weeks to vegetative time but pay off significantly at harvest.
Why is my actual yield lower than the calculator estimate?
Common reasons: suboptimal VPD or humidity, insufficient light intensity (PPFD below 600β800 Β΅mol/mΒ²/s), nutrient deficiencies or lockout, light burn, root problems, or harvesting too early before trichomes are fully mature. The calculator estimates maximum potential β real-world yields typically land at 60β90% of that figure for most growers. Use Advanced mode with the Beginner experience modifier for a more conservative estimate.

Waste of time, they do not ship fast or have good customer service
Website states orders are processed 1-24 hours, here we are a week later & there has been no updates or tracking information. I called & canceled my order & will no longer do business with HydroBuilder, spoke with two different people on different occasions & neither could give any information & did not offer any solution.
Hi, I purchased 125 20 gallon bags for our Loofah's here at our farm. As of this Friday, it will be 4 Weeks and they let me know it went back to the warehouse. 4 Weeks later.
Delivery is supposed to be next Monday, I have no faith in that. I recommend you find a more reliable source where you live. I am here in Michigan where this product was sent out. All the way to California, "by Mistake" Chelsea said.
From locating the product through receipt of package, the whole process was well organized. Shipping cost was reasonable and delivered quickly. THANK YOU!
Didn't send the right product; $100 Restocking Fee on $160 order
NEVER shop here, they didn't send the right product, and are now insisting that we pay $100 restocking fee + $60 on shipping (meaning we don't get any money back).
$38 for ice and a small little sachet. For the same price I could get 30 sachets directly from the source don't trust these guys! Go to TipTopbio.com the website listed on the sachet!
First time last time customer. These guys are definitely cut off!
