Organic Meals

Organic meals are usually derived from bone, blood, kelp, fish, or alfalfa. Meals are widely used in organic gardening and have produced great results for many years. There are lots of different types of organic meals, each having its own purpose.

Blood Meal: an organic animal byproduct, which is very nitrogen heavy, and is useful when plants need a quick shot of nitrogen, or for soil treatment. These meals usually contain an NPK rating of 12-0-0, and can burn your plants if used without proper caution

Bone Meal: this is an excellent source of phosphorous, and has a safer NPK rating, at 3-15-0

Kelp Meal: derived from seaweed, this organic meal contains a vast profile of micronutrients, but a negligible number of macronutrients.

Fish Meal: a great source of nitrogen, derived from fish waste with an NPK of 10-6-2.

Cottonseed Meal: A cotton by-product, this is a slow release fertilizer that includes both nitrogen and phosphorous, with an NPK of 6-0.4-1.5, this is generally recommended for a more acid-loving plant food.
