NugSmasher Rosin Press Machines
NugSmasher builds purpose-engineered rosin presses that use heat and pressure alone to extract oil from plant material — no solvents, no chemicals, no post-processing requirements. Every press in the NugSmasher lineup is designed around consistent, repeatable pressure application across dual heated plates, with precise independent temperature control throughout the extraction cycle.
NugSmasher Model Range: Mini to IQ
The NugSmasher lineup at Hydrobuilder covers manual, pneumatic, and hydraulic configurations for home and commercial extraction. The NugSmasher Mini (2-ton manual) is sized for small-batch home extraction. The NugSmasher OG offers a mid-range manual option with a larger plate surface. The NugSmasher Pro (20-ton pneumatic/manual) delivers consistent high-pressure operation with an air compressor — the most popular configuration for regular production use. The NugSmasher Touch and IQ add digital temperature programming, automated pressure cycles, and pre-set extraction recipes for fully repeatable results batch after batch. All models feature dual aluminum heated plates with independent temperature zones, integrated pressure gauges, and food-grade stainless steel components throughout.
Manual vs. Pneumatic: Choosing the Right Press
Manual presses use a hand-operated screw or lever mechanism — straightforward to operate, no air compressor required, and well-suited to low-volume or occasional use. Pneumatic presses use compressed air to drive the plates, delivering consistent pressure with significantly less physical effort and faster cycle times. For anyone running regular extraction sessions or processing larger input quantities, pneumatic operation dramatically reduces operator fatigue and improves batch consistency compared to manual operation.
Rosin Press Accessories
NugSmasher accessories available at Hydrobuilder include micron pressing bags (36, 72, 90, and 115 micron), DIY replacement plate sets, collection tools, parchment paper rolls, and cleaning supplies. Finer micron bags (36–72 micron) produce higher-purity output from refined starting material; coarser bags (90–115 micron) work better with raw plant material for higher yields.
NugSmasher Warranty
All NugSmasher presses include a lifetime warranty on parts and labor for the original buyer. Warranty excludes damage from misuse or unauthorized modification. Customer is responsible for shipping to and from the factory for warranty service.

NugSmasher FAQ
What is a NugSmasher rosin press and how does it work?
A NugSmasher is a solventless rosin press that uses heated plates and mechanical pressure to extract oil from plant material — no solvents, no post-processing, no chemical residue. Plant material is placed in a micron pressing bag, inserted between the heated plates, and pressed. Heat softens the resinous compounds in the plant material; pressure forces them through the micron bag onto parchment paper for collection. The entire process takes 30–90 seconds per press cycle. NugSmasher presses use aluminum plates with embedded heating elements and digital temperature controllers for precise, repeatable extraction temperatures.
What is the difference between NugSmasher Mini, OG, Pro, Touch, and IQ?
Mini: 2-ton manual press for small-batch home extraction, no compressor required. OG: mid-range manual press with a larger plate surface than the Mini. Pro: 20-ton pneumatic/manual hybrid — consistent high-pressure operation using an air compressor, the most popular NugSmasher model for regular production. Touch: electric press with a touchscreen controller for programmed temperature and timer cycles, no compressor needed. IQ: top-of-line electric press with automated pressure control, programmable recipes, and a digital display — full automation for the most repeatable results. Manual presses (Mini, OG) require physical effort; pneumatic/electric (Pro, Touch, IQ) automate the pressing force.
What temperature and pressure settings should I use on a NugSmasher?
For raw plant material: 220–240°F for 30–45 seconds at 600–1,000 PSI. For dry sift or hash input material: 180–210°F for 45–90 seconds at 300–700 PSI — lower temperature and pressure than plant material to preserve terpene content in the more refined input. Cold-press technique (160–190°F, 1–5 minutes, higher pressure) maximizes terpene retention at the cost of somewhat lower yield. Remove pressed material from the plates immediately after the press cycle — leaving it on hot plates degrades output quality. Plates and input material temperature affect extraction significantly; use consistent starting conditions for repeatable results.
Does NugSmasher offer a warranty?
Yes — all NugSmasher presses include a lifetime warranty on parts and labor for the original buyer. The warranty covers manufacturing defects and component failures under normal operating conditions. It excludes damage from misuse, unauthorized modification, or use beyond rated specifications. The customer is responsible for shipping costs to and from the NugSmasher factory for warranty service. Warranty registration is recommended at purchase to establish original ownership on record.
