Triathlon BA is an OMRI listed broad-spectrum preventative biofungicide and bactericide for use on a wide variety of ornamentals, fruits, vegetables and herbs grown in greenhouses, nursery and shade houses.
Labeled for use on: Ornamentals, vegetables (fruiting and leafy), legumes, cucurbits, corms, fruits, tree nuts, and herbs and spices.
Diseases controlled: botrytis, powdery mildew, downy mildew, rusts, leaf spots, scab, alternaria, pythium, phytophthora, rhizoctonia, fusarium, and bacterial spot.
Notes: Triathlon BA contains a minimum of 1 x 1010 colony-forming units (cfu) of active ingredient per milliliter.

Q. What is Triathlon BA?
A. Triathlon BA is the next generation preventive biofungicide labeled for both organic and non-organic production. Triathlon BA controls a wide variety of fungal and bacterial diseases on ornamentals, fruits, vegetables, and herbs and spices.
Q. Is Triathlon BA a true biological?
A. Yes Triathlon BA is a true organic. It is listed by OMRI (Organic Materials Review Institute) and also complies with UDSA NOP for use in organic production.
Q. How is the best way to use Triathlon BA in my production?
Triathlon BA is best used as a preventative fungicide and bactericide on not only traditional ornamental greenhouse plants but also herbs and vegetables.
Q. Can I use Triathlon BA as a drench or a spray?
A. Yes - Triathlon BA may be applied as both a drench and a spray. Drenches should be applied to target the root zone for prevention of root pathogens like Pythium and Phytophthora. Foliar spray applications should be applied for good coverage of leaves and stems.
Q. Since Triathlon BA is a biological is it stable and does it need special storage conditions?
A. Triathlon BA is a biological product with a very stable shelf life. You can expect good activity for 1-2 years when properly stored. Optimal storage is under a conditioned environment such as a refrigerator or cooler.
Q. What are the best foliar spray rates and intervals?
Spray rates range from 0.5 quarts to 6 quarts per 100 gallons with intervals from 3 to 10 days. The most common rate is 2 quarts/100 gallons spray every 5 to 7 days. Under conditions favorable for disease development you can increase the use rate and/or decrease the spray interval.
Q. I want to use Triathlon BA as part of my bacterial control program. Is it compatible with copper?
Yes - Triathlon BA is compatible with copper and can be used in rotation or even a tank mix for foliar applications to control bacterial diseases.
Q. What about the pH of my spray tank water?
Spray tank water should be buffered to a pH between 6 and 8. Do not allow Triathlon BA mix to stand in the tank overnight.
Q. When I opened the container there was a funny odor - is that a problem?
No - Triathlon BA is produced as a fermentation product similar to beer and wine. The odor is merely that of a fermentation process and is normal.
Q. Are there any restrictions on application equipment for Triathlon BA?
Triathlon BA can be applied with normal hydraulic sprayers, through chemigation and through misting equipment such as AutoFogs. You may also dip unrooted cuttings and plugs to prevent diseases.
Should I use a spreader-sticker with foliar sprays with Triathlon BA?
If your experience has shown spreader-stickers to be helpful then they will probably help with Triathlon BA applications as well.
