Neptune's Harvest Organic Kelp Meal (1 - 0 - 2) is dried and ground Rock Weed (Ascophyllum Nodosum), which grows in the cold clean waters along the New England coast, and is known as the best marine plant available for agriculture today.Kelp Meal is a natural and cost effective enhancement to any soil fertilization and conditioning program. Suitable for all crops and applications, Kelp Meal contains trace minerals, carbohydrates and amino acids which help to create a strong root system. Added to soil, kelp meal adds organic matter to your soil and help it retain moisture. It will enhance healthy root growth.

It should be tilled in the soil before planting or can be top dressed, incorporated into potting soils, seed beds and composting material. It will add organic matter to your soil and help it retain moisture. For use on agronomic crops and gardens, apply in early spring as soon as soil can be worked. For perennial crops, apply at the end of dormancy. Mix thoroughly with the soil or growing media, taking care not to apply in concentrated form directly to the roots. To apply as a soil conditioner for fruit groves, ornamental trees, lawns and turf, applying directly as a top dressing. Kelp Meal will keep your lawn healthy and green, and shows great results on all plants. It is perfect to mix with the Neptune’s Harvest Crab Shell.
The following application rates are approximate and may vary depending on climatic conditions, soil type and soil fertility.
Field Crops: 200-400 lbs. per acre; 225-450 kg. per hectare
Row Crops: 2 lbs. per 100 ft.; 1.5 kg per 50 meters
Vegetable & Flower Gardens: 3 lbs. per 100 sq. ft.;1.5 kg per 10 sq. meters
Trees & Flower Gardens: 1 lb. per inch of tree diameter; 200 g. per cm. of tree diameter
Turf Grasses & Lawns: 10 lbs. per 1000 sq. feet; 5 kg. per 100 sq. meters
Seedbeds: 1 lb. per 100 sq. feet; 500 g. per 10 sq. meters
Bedding Plants: 1 oz. (2 tbsp.) per 100 sq. feet; 500 g per sq. meter
Potting Mixes: 2-3% of total volume mix
Fertilizer Mixes: 5-10% of total volume of mix
Composts: 10 lbs, per cubic yard; 6 kg. per cubic meter
