Hydroponic Water Heaters

In certain climates, water in your hydroponic system can drop to a level below what is optimal for plants. Nutrient solutions below 60 degrees can shock plants, slowing down the metabolic processes and halting growth. During the winter months, this is an especially common problem.

How do you heat hydroponic water?

A common problem in the winter months is the nutrient solution in your hydroponic reservoir dropping too low. When the water temperature is below 60 degrees Fahrenheit, plants will think the growing season is ending. At this point, they will stop growing until temperatures warm again.

Plants will thrive in a temperature range of 65-70 degrees Fahrenheit. If your water falls below this level, you will need to implement a water heater.

Hydroponic water heater to keep your reservoir the ideal temperature

Hydroponic reservoir heaters are submersible devices that sit inside your reservoir tank. They are measured in watts, and it is important to size your heater in accordance with the size of your reservoir.
