Method Seven designs high-quality glasses and photo filters for indoor and outdoor growing environments. Our grow room glasses provide true color in bright lighting and are optimized for each of the standard grow lighting spectrums.
The Cultivator provides great value and exceptional light balancing for full spectrum lights. These polymer lenses offer 100% UV protection plus an infrared exterior lens coating.
Our new FX lens is an engineering marvel, designed in conjunction with Carl Zeiss Laboratories, ophthalmologists, optical physicists, and even an electrical engineer. Experience comfort and safety while working under bright Full Spectrum LED lights, and 3,000°K - 4,200°K CMH / LEC lamps. Full spectrum LED technology emits powerful band radiation and potentially UVC; while CMH / LEC lamps contain UV and infrared. It might look like an average sunny day under full spectrum lights, but these "engineered spectrums" require overkill protection.
The FX lens is remarkable in its ability to get high levels of beneficial light into your eyes comfortably and safely, allowing your eyes to work more naturally, and with less strain. The FX lens also blocks some near-infrared, which aids in keeping your eyes cool and moist. In addition to protecting your eyes under the bright lights of your indoor grow, the FX lens is fantastic for wearing outdoors on a hot sunny day.
*Not for use with 6,500°K - 10,000°K metal halide lamps, blurple (blue+purple), or magenta spectrum LED lights.
The Cultivator frame is made with an impact resistant high level polycarbonate, for a flexible and lightweight fit. This half-jacket frame includes no-slip rubber nose pads that hold the frame comfortably for hours, even in hot conditions. Certified by independent labs to meet or exceed International ANSI MSZ87+S and Canadian CSA Z94.3 specifications. This includes high velocity impact resistance. It's great for outdoor trail running and mountain biking too!
Mineral glass lenses virtuall eliminate the strobe effect caused by HPS and Metal Halide lights
Made from premium German mineral glass or world-class synthetics by Italy's Carl Zeiss
All lenses are asymmetrically tuned, bringing distortion free focus and clarity to your eyes.
M7 lenses provide full UV protection, eliminating UVA, UVB, and even UVC rays.
Grow rooms have lots of light, but it's not broad spectrum. Though this might be great for plants, it's not so great for your eyes. Human eyes contain rods and cones, which need broad-spectrum light in order to focus, recognize shapes, register movement, and see color. In a grow room environment, sunglasses make things worse by darkening all the light, so you squint less, but you still can’t see color, and it’s even more difficult to focus. Other grow light glasses attempt to color balance the extreme light spectrum but use cheap plastic lenses with very poor clarity that distort light and are hazy or blurry.
With cheap grow room glasses, your eyes and brain work overtime to compensate. This leads to fatigue, headaches, seeing spots, and in some cases, experience damaging UV radiation. Your eyes are essential, and so is getting the most out of your grow. Don’t risk using sunglasses or cheap grow room glasses!
Method Seven delivers epic color and complete safety under HID lights. See foliage accurately, spot pests and deficiencies early and efficiently. No headaches, strain, or long-term eye damage.

Q: What makes Method Seven different from other grow room glasses?
A: Quality and materials. Eye protection and color correction are essential for those working under high pressure sodium (HPS) lights. Our HPS grow room glasses are made with mineral glass instead of cheap plastic, allowing for better technology to create perfect vision, ultimate comfort, and supreme protection. The rare earth metals in our grow glasses remove the high energy spike HPS lights emit, while also removing the stroboscopic effect of HPS bulbs. Our synthetic lenses are crafted by Carl Zeiss, world leader in optics manufacturing. Our lenses are never bent to fit into frames. This manufacturing technique typical of cheap glasses causes major distortion and discomfort.
Q: Which lenses do I need for my Ceramic Metal Halide lights?
A: The best option for ceramic metal halide glasses is the Agent 939 FX. Originally designed for full spectrum LEDs, the Agent 939 FX has the subtle color balance and complete protection necessary for ceramic metal halide lights; they also offer superb contrast, UV & infrared protection.
Q: What is the difference between the green LED+ lenses and pinkish FX lenses?
A: The LED+ lenses offer profound color balance for red/blue to magenta spectrum LED grow lights (EXAMPLES: KIND LED or Black Dog LED). The FX lenses are designed for full spectrum LED lights, offering subtle color balance to enhance contrast (EXAMPLES: FLUENCE LED or Spectrum King LED).
Q: Which lenses should I order if I use both MH and HPS lights?
A: HPS lights will overpower the bright white MH light. You're good to go with any of our HPS grow glasses. If you have the HPS lights and MH lights in separate grow rooms, rather than mixed together, you'll have a better experience with the appropriate lenses for each grow room.
Q: What is the difference with all of the HPS options?
A: Our favorite HPS grow room glasses are the “Perfect Color” HPS+. These premium mineral glass lenses offer the most profound color balance, cooling, and clarity available. Glass lenses are a challenge to make, but they sure make for an amazing visual experience. HPSx Transition optics refer to transition grow glasses. Photochromic technology reacts with direct sunlight to transition the sunglasses from blue to a soft grey within a few minutes of exposure. Our polycarbonate HPS+ grow glasses attenuate and balance the HPS spectrum. They are manufactured in partnership Zeiss optics, guaranteeing your distortion and haze free clarity and comfort.
Q: Does one set of grow glasses work for all grow room lights?
A: No. Our notch filtering technology works so well as it very specifically filters out some wavelengths of light while allowing other wavelengths to pass information to the eye. Each M7 lens is a filter highly tuned to its namesake light spectrum. It's not possible for a single lens to properly filter light for vastly different spectrums. As with filters, if the input changes, so does the output.
Q: How do I use the camera photo filters?
A: Our photo filters are compatible with the Cokin “P” series filter holder system (not included). The filters fit best into the center slot of the filter holder. You will also select an adapter ring sized appropriately for your camera, they are available in many sizes: 48mm, 49mm, 52mm, 55mm, 58mm, 62mm, 67mm, 72mm, 77mm, 82mm. Cokin also offers a universal adapter, note, some say this option has a less secure fit. Larger lenses will experience some vignetting.
