Our Gorilla Grow Tent Double Ended Grow Tent Packages are designed to produce larger yields and a higher quality end product, all while using the same amount of energy than their traditional HID counterpart.
Double Ended HID lights are more intense than traditional HID lights, so you will need to place the light further away from the plant canopy. We recommend to hang the light about 4 feet away from your plants initially and slowly move it closer as they transition into flower. Try to keep the light at least 30-36 inches away from the plant canopy to avoid light burn. The Gorilla Grow Tents included in these packages come standard with a 1 foot height extension that will bring the total height of your tent from 6'11" to 7'11". We recommend that you use the height extension. You can also purchase an additional 1 or 2 foot extension to raise the height of the tent even higher (if your space allows). Refer to the setup guide tab for more info.
Since DE lights are more intense than most other grow lights, there is also more heat generated from the lights and it may be possible that you will need to cool the tent with an A/C depending on the area you live in as well as the time of year. If you need additional cooling click here to view our selection of A/C units.

Gorilla Grow Tent 8' x 8' Commercial Double Ended Grow Tent Package Setup Guide
Be sure to carefully measure the space you intend to setup the tent in. It should be slightly larger than the tent itself to allow for an easy setup. You should also plan your ventilation setup as you will want room on one or more sides of the tent for ducting. We give some examples of ventilation setups below.
You should have a space available at least this size:
Setting up the tent is a simple.
Choose a Growing Media/Method:
Depending on your intended use of this tent, you can choose from the following growing methods available at Hydrobuilder:
The lighting equipment included with this package provides ample light for all stages of growth for this size of growing space. As the plants grow, adjusting the height of the light fixtures is essential to provide the maximum light while not burning the plants. The included adjustable hangers make adjustments easy. The rule of thumb here is to set the light height to what you think is correct, then place your hand at the plant canopy level with the light on and feel if it gets too hot in 30secs. If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for your plants.
Setting up the lighting equipment included with this package is simple:
For this tent package, our suggested light configuration looks like this:
Proper ventilation is essential to healthy plant growth, and proper filtration is equally essential to clean the air and kill all odors. You should be replacing the air in your tent at least once every 5 minutes when the lights are on. Please note that CFM performance of a fan is affected by the length and path of ducting.
The ventilation equipment included in this package sufficiently meets the CFM requirements of the tent. With 25ft of high performance ducting included, you have plenty to create a custom routing that best fits your installation. The included Hydrobuilder variable fan speed controller helps to give you more control over CFM and fan noise.
Your ventilation can be set up in a number of ways. Here are some possible configurations:
What you will still need:
To get up and running you will need a few more things, mainly a growing container/media setup, plants, water, and nutrients. We covered the growing setup choices above, for nutrients we offer a wide selection from all of the industry leaders. View our selection of nutrients.
If this is your first time growing, and aren't sure where to start, we recommend sticking with soil and containers. It's the easiest to learn with as the soil is more forgiving, allowing you to make small mistakes with nutrition that would otherwise cause issues in hydroponic systems. It's also really cheap and easy to setup. If you choose this route, the Fox Farm Trio Soil is a great nutrient starter kit to use. If you'd like a more advanced nutrient plan that includes micronutrients then The Dirty Dozen kit by Fox Farm is the one we recommend.
