What are stakes and risers
Stakes come in many different forms and variations. Stakes can be used as emitters for tubing to run water through. Stakes can be used as support to keep pre punctured lines where they need to be. Stakes can also simply be used to hold down a drip line.
Risers are exactly what the name implies. They can be made to stand up over certain plants. They can be set up so your sprinklers recede after use. Risers are a key component to a proper irrigation set up.
Why use stakes and risers
Stakes are great for precision. Stakes will not only help save water, but they will also help give water exactly where your roots need it. Sprinklers are great but can waste water and usually lack precision. Drip line without stakes usually have the same result.
Stakes can also help hold your drip line in place. High water pressure, wind, or animals can move your water lines. When this happens, your emitters can be left useless. Stakes make sure you water where you want!
Risers connect to your sprinkler head, drip manifold, and other watering devices. Risers are perfect for shrubs or raised potted plants. Use nipples and cut off risers to connect sprinklers to water supply pipes.
