Overview

Detect & Control Fluid Levels With These Compact, Rugged, & Economical Infrared Liquid Sensor Kits

Electronic optical liquid sensors are durable, have no moving parts and are easy to maintain. SXL sensors can detect fluid levels in tanks, flow in pipes, or leaks in drip pans when liquid touches the sensor tip. Wide voltage range and high current capacity makes the SXL sensor practical for TTL logic, industrial PLC or direct relay control applications. 1/4” NPT threading and removable wiring terminal block with pin-out cast into the hex head makes installation or replacement fast and simple. When the output is energized a red LED illuminates the sensor body giving a visual status indication.

Features include:

  • "Stable state" switching to detect splashing.
  • Two-second output debounce.
  • Error indication for infrared flooding (sensor disabled), LED flashes.
  • Error indication for backwards terminal block, LED flashes.
  • "Heart beat" flash every 10 seconds to indicate sensor is powered and functioning normally.
  • Made in USA

Sensor Kit Layout

Each kit includes two liquid sensors for high and low “fill” or “drain” control of fluids in tanks, reservoirs, etc. Only power, wire and a valve or relay is required to complete the level control system; no external controller is required. Easy to wire and setup!

SXL-D Drain Sensor Kit

Sensor Description

When liquid is above the low sensor (SXL-1, wet-on) its output provides power to the high sensor (SXL-1X, wet-on latching.) When liquid rises above the high sensor, its output latches on. The high sensor’s output is used to power a device (such as a control relay for a pump or valve) until it is reset by the low sensor’s output turning off.

SXL-F Fill Sensor Kit

Fill Sensor Kit Description

When liquid is below the high sensor (SXL-2, dry-on) its output provides power to the low sensor (SXL-2X, dry-on latching.) When liquid falls below low sensor, its output latches on. The low sensor’s output is used to power a device (such as a control relay for a pump or valve) until it is reset by the high sensor’s output turning off.

Optional Mounting System

For users who need a way to mount your SXL system, Agrowtek offers a LSM Liquid Sensor Mounting System! This Two-part system for mounting SXL liquid level sensors from the top of a tank providing secure mounting, adjustable sensor heights, and easy installation and removal.

Uses standard 1" PVC pipe to mount the SXL liquid sensors at adjustable depths within a liquid tank. Top mounting avoids holes on the sides of the container to reduce chances of leaks. Learn More Here!
